Holi ("Fajua") Introduction :-Holi is the "Festival of colours", for it is celebrated by throwing colours at each other. It is an important Indian festival on the full moon day of Falgun .This Festival has a mythological basis. The story is that this festival s celebrated in honour of the devotee Prahlad, who was the son of the King Hiranya Kaship. The Letter regarded himself as God and demanded that every body should workship him. The child Prahlad did not acknowledge his father angry at this and dicided God Vishnu. His father became very angry at this and decided to punish him. He issue an order that Prahlad should be thrown into a blazing fire. Prahlad was made to sit in his siter Holika lap and burnt. But Holika was burnt and Prahlad escaped unhurt. Thus this victory Celebrated good over Devil.
On the whole however Holi is a festival which is welcomed by the people of Mithila. It is a festival filled joy and cheer and we should all see to it that it remains so and the unpleasant activities of people should all see to it that it remains so that every body enjoys it.
